Materials and Constructions

Every Robens tent is made from high quality materials and manufactured with great care. All tents are designed and then tested thoroughly before being allowed to reach the market. Featuring fabrics such as HydroTex Ultralite, HydroTex HD, HydroTex 5000 and Hydrotex Polycotton throughout the range as well as details like alloy poles, gear lofts, clip-on pole system and a carrier bag with compression straps these tents are made to exacting standards for all users. Each fabric has built in UV resistance for a longer life and with quality fittings these tents are designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor life.

HydroTex 5000

We use HydroTex 5000 for the tents in the Adventure line. Because these models are designed for recreational camping holidays and not for use in the high mountains or other extreme situations, we have selected a slightly simpler fabric variant which does not have a ripstop structure and resists 5000 mm water column, but this is quite adequate for normal use. The UV resistance and fire-retarding characteristics of the fabric are features of HydroTex HD.

Weight of tents

In the documentation for Robens tents we always list two different weights: The maximum (max.) weight is the weight of the complete tent as we supply it - including the carrier bag, pre-attached guylines, pegs, repair patches, and a spare ferrule for pole repair; with the large Adventure models this also includes the groundsheets for the front living area and the poles and guylines for erecting the entrances. The minimum (min.) weight is the weight of the tent without guylines or any other accessories and with only the basic minimum number of pegs needed to erect the tent.
