Mitch Wiesinger

Hey! My name is Mitch and I'm a fulltime, freelance photographer living in Odense, Denmark.

Originally, I'm from Canada, but after marrying my best friend Sissel, I've been enjoying living in her homeland, Denmark, for the last two years. I grew up on a farm, and have always loved a good outdoor adventure, but that love grew even more once I began mixing my passion of photography and video into my trips. For the past 2 years, I've been blessed to make my passion my fulltime job, and now I work creating content with some amazing clients primarily in the automotive, sports, and tourism fields.

Why do you love the outdoors?
When I go out into nature, and see the beauty it has to offer, it reminds me that there is more to life than just a job, or just surviving. It reminds me that there is so much more, and so many amazing things to be discovered.

What do you want to achieve from your adventures?
I want to, firstly, find down-time to relax and find peace. Life can be stressful and just noisy, so it's important to just be in nature, breathe in the fresh air, and let your senses take it all in. Secondly, to connect with people outside of the busy day to day life and build friendships. Thirdly, to capture images and memories that will inspire others to go and explore. I hope people will see some of my photos, and it will inspire them to visit some of these places and experience the peace and joy it can bring.

What is your current adventure?
This entire last year has been an adventure. I have travelled thousands of kilometers and visited 18 countries for a mixture of business and adventure. I love travelling and experiencing new places. I'm so blessed my job takes me to some truly amazing places.

What are the highs of your trip?
The highs of my trips are probably when everything lines up for a perfect sunset. I love how they are always different, yet always amazing. Combine that with a fresh coffee and a bonfire, and it really is the perfect way to end the day!

What are the lows of your trip?
The lows of my outdoor trips are the times when I forgot to pack the proper sleeping gear, and was cold in the night. I think that is one of the worst feelings possible.

Have you had any funny experiences?
Sorry, couldn't think of a funny story

What is important when you choose a tent and other gear?
When choosing gear, I think it's important to consider the quality. It's always worth spending a little extra to get a product that will do the job properly. Especially when considering the harsh conditions nature can throw your way when on an outdoor trip.

What do you like about your Robens gear?
And that's what I like about Robens gear. It's good quality. I know I can trust all the Robens gear I have, because it's proven its worth on all my previous trips. It's a brand that I recommended to many people in search of good quality, outdoor gear, far before I became a brand ambassador.

Your top tip for newbie adventurers?
My biggest tip is to pack extra warm gear for the night when sleeping in a tent or shelter! It's always easy to layer down, or maybe open up your sleeping bag if you're too hot in the night, but being cold, and not having the proper gear and warmth while trying to sleep, is a terrible situation to be in!
