Zenia Maltha
I live in Denmark, near Jutland. Jutland has some of the most beautiful nature in Denmark so I’m happy I live in this part of the country. I really enjoy hunting, cooking over a fire and spending the night outside. In addition to this, I have written books on both campfire food and hunting, and I am a guide on outdoor trips. The outdoor life has always been a big part of my life, and I love being able to spend as much time as possible in nature. That's what it's all about.
Why do you love the outdoors?
My interest in outdoor life has been there since I was a kid. I grew up with my toes buried in the grass and sleeping under the open sky. When I was in the military in 2013, it really boosted my adult bushcraft and outdoor life. The interest in making a fire, staying warm in winter and cooking on it just got way bigger, and since that time, I have spent over half of the year outside. I love being outside because it calms my mind. During a busy day, I need something that can unplug my brain and just be. And that is what nature do for me.
What do you want to achieve from your adventures?
I get challenged on almost all my adventures. Whether it's a hike in the Norwegian mountains, or Croatia's hot mountains. It all challenges me mentally, in its own way. In addition to this, I want to inspire others to come out. Out in the wild and use what we have and find. Everyday there are too many expectations on us, and I like that those expectations do not exist when we are out on adventures in nature: A trip out in the nature, is always an adventure.
