The Robens furniture range originates from our lightweight stools that were designed to pack into a rucksack and quickly assembled for trailside comfort when needed. The range quickly grew year on year as more outdoor enthusiasts across a wide spectrum of pastimes discovered the benefits of furniture that is specifically designed to provide high-levels of on-the-trail and base camp comfort without the penalties paid in terms of weight and space.
Today, Robens furniture falls into two categories. The stools continue in our Trekking range that now includes more light, compact performance furniture for trailside comfort. Such characteristics are also appreciated by adventurers using self-propelled vehicles like kayaks and cycles, motorbike touring, or those families and groups camping from smaller vehicles. This year sees cosmetic updates to many products to bring a fresh feel that matches changing tastes for natural tones and the latest equipment designs.
Life in the wilderness does not mean you sacrifice comfort, and our Basecamp furniture majors on offering this in a small and light package, perfect for more rugged campgrounds. Our stools, chairs, bed, kitchen table/cupboard and tables have rapidly found an enthusiastic following with adventurers camping from smaller vehicles, like campervans and off-roaders, especially where storage space and load carrying abilities are at a premium. This has also captured the attention of caravan and motorhome owners who experience similar problems yet still desire good looking comfortable furniture.
Basecamp furniture has also undergone cosmetic changes and includes two new products. Our new Settler Storage Unit is a sturdy zip-close cupboard with aluminium work surface and fold-flat shelving. It features an aluminium frame with a quick lock mechanism for added strength and stability – perfect storage option when camping on wilder sites. This is complemented by our new Transit table. It comprises a sturdy lightweight aluminium-frame and roll top, with telescopic adjustable legs taking care of stability on uneven ground.
